For XY-stage and XYZ-stage applications, M3-LS linear micro stages are easily assembled into multi-axis configurations. The completed assemblies offer compact size and easy integration into your handheld and portable instruments. Each of these “smart stages” has all control electronics embedded in the stage. The X and Y axis are in one pattern, and they cannot be disassembled. We also provide 50 mm ranges in both X and Y axes. The XY translation stage also can be stacked by 2 units of single axis stage T125X-25R or T125X-50R. Z Vertical Stage: T125Z-10B. Refer to T125Z-10B, We also provide a 20 mm range in Z direction, T125Z-20B.

X Y Z Stages
  • In many applications, an additional Z axis is required. This can either be added atop the XY stage, forming an XYZ stage, or the Z stage can be mounted separately, and control a payload relative to a separate customer part on the XY stage.
  • 10 mm travel range in both X-Y axis. A rare opportunity to control an X-Y translation stage by access from a single side. Stages fit Optical Rails: 7T8-01, 7T8-02.

Cartesian Model to Three Dimensional Model

In a 2-axis Cartesian model, we have X axis running left to right and Y axis running down to up.

X y z stage

Points in this model are defined by two values: X and Y.

In Visual Effects and Surveying, we add a third axis to define points in three values.

For this, we use a three dimensional Cartesian Model with X, Y and Z axes.

It’s important to note that, in Previzion, X-axis run back to front and Z-axis runs left to right.

In surveying, the same model applies, but the axes have a different name:

Multi Axis Positioning Stages

  • Northing: X-axis
  • Easting: Z-axis
  • Elevation: Y-axis

{{RIGHT}}

Northing, Easting, Elevation to XYZ

When converting from the survey coordinate system from Northing,Easting,Elevation denomination to X,Y,Z denomination, flip the second and third values.

Just remember that Y is always up. And in Surveying terms Y is Elevation.

This difference is important to keep in mind because, in the survey files, Elevation, the Y-axis, is the third item, while in Previzion coordinates, Elevation is the second item in the coordinates.

  • Northing = X
  • Easting = Z
  • Elevation = Y

The XYZ Positioning Stage from MPositioning Co., Limited is manufactured for Positioning Solutions in both manual and motorized types.

The model T60XYZ-25L10A, XYZ Translation Stage is stacked by 2 units of Linear Translation StageT60X-25L and a Vertical StageT60Z-10A. This XYZ stage provides 25 mm in X and Y, 10 mm of vertical travel in Z and offers 3 kg of maximum center loading.
