Opened in April 1983, the Casino 2000 complex brings together facilities for gambling, dining, accommodation and shows attracting almost half a million visitors a year. In addition to its many slot machines, the casino has roulette and blackjack tables. The frequent shows feature well-known stars and bands.[2] In 2011, responding to the need for additional business facilities, a partitionable hall of 1,325 square metres (14,260 square feet) was built to accommodate meetings, conferences, exhibitions or fairs.[3]

Since the 1840s, several unsuccessful attempts were made to obtain permission to open a casino in Mondorf-les-Bains. It was, however, only in 1977 that the Luxembourg parliament approved a bill authorizing gambling in Luxembourg. In September 1977, Mondorf-les-Bains was chosen as the only location in the country where a casino could operate. After the establishment of a company called Casino de jeux du Luxembourg, Mondorf-les-Bains/Luxemburgische Spielbank Bad Mondorf, the cornerstone of the building was laid in May 1982. Costing 350 million Luxembourg francs, the casino was opened at an inauguration ceremony on 16 April 1983.[4]

This is a pleasant casino, combined with a Hotel. The place is well lit and attractive. They offer a package deal Hotel + Casino + Food at a very good price. The casino is about 20 km from the city centre and taxis are very expensive, making the package deal more attractive. The management and personnel are helpful and friendly and will handle your booking requirements and queries promptly, by phone or by email. Early booking is recommended. The gaming areas are lively both in the slots area and table games area. There are only a few table games though and only one single-zero American Roulette table. Minimum bet is 5.00 € on all the table games. In roulette the 'En prison' rule is applied, which means you only lose half your 'Even-money' bet when the outcome is zero. Here, like many other European casinos, you need to tip the dealer 1 chip if you win 35 chips on a straight up bet. There are two restaurants a snack bar and two bars. The food is very good but the service is slow. At the Michelin-starred and very elegant gastronomic restaurant Les Roses, they offer a nine-course set menu for only 69.00 €. Early table reservation is recommended for both restaurants, especially for the weekend.
