Fitting
Nike shoes, across the board, tend to be slightly smaller than competitors like Adidas or Reebok and customers' typical athletic and non-athletic shoe size. Many times Nike's shoes not only come a bit smaller in length, but also in width. Individuals with wider feet have often reported having difficulty with the shoes fitting too snugly around the middle.
Quite many reported that the shoes fit true to size to their 'normal' shoe size; many customers reported knowing from previous purchases or reading amazon reviews that Nikes indeed run smaller than typical running shoes. Individuals that have flatter feet may experience discomfort with Nike shoes' pronounced arch, but, alternatively, those that require a high arch or have a natural foot arch may like these shoes the best.
Many that ordered a half size up and reported the shoe to fit snugly width-wise did report that with some wear, the shoes became more comfortable and stretched to a good size. For the most part, Nike shoes provided the wearers ample space for their toes without cramping. As one reviewer reported, his big toe and second toe are the same size, and the Nike shoes did not squish his toes as some other shoes have in the past. Many reported that the Nikes were a very comfortable shoe but needed to be broken in. Some reported that, though the shoes felt a little small, breaking the shoes in really made a difference in the way that the wearer thought the shoes fit initially.
Tips
Us Youth Shoe Size Chart
Buy Nike shoes either a half size or a full size up, even if going off of the Nike shoe size chart. For example, if an individual typically wears a 10 or a 10.5, a Nike size 11 would most likely fit the best. People that have wide feet will most likely want to order a half size up and the 'wide' model of the shoe. If this is not an option for that particular Nike shoe, as is sometimes the case, the individual will most likely want to order a full size up. Nike also makes 'narrow' models of their shoes, but these seem to be quite uncommon because those with narrow feet reported the width of the Nike shoe in a half size up from their typical shoe size to fit well. Some foreign customers reported difficulty with the exchange between European sizes and American sizes, so it would be helpful to tell European customers to convert their typical shoe size to the American size and then add a half or full size to it at their discretion when purchasing Nikes.
Overall, there were very few negative reviews of the Nike shoes, despite significant sizing differences between Nikes and other shoes. As reported above, many of the customers already knew that Nikes ran small and took it upon themselves to order a larger size, which often did not leave them disappointed.
